Akwa Ibom State Government Continues Collaborative Efforts with Security Agencies

UYO – The Akwa Ibom State government is unwavering in its commitment to bolster security efforts and uphold the ARISE Agenda of Governor Umo Eno.

This dedication to ensuring the safety of citizens and residents was reaffirmed by the Honourable Commissioner for Information, Comrade Ini Ememobong, Friday, during a Courtesy Call on him by Public Relations Officers of Security Agencies in the State, held in the Ministry’s Conference Room.

During the meeting, the Honourable Commissioner for Information, Comrade Ini Ememobong, extended an open invitation to Security Agencies operating within the State to collaborate through various information platforms. Emphasizing the shared goal of serving Akwa Ibom State’s best interests, he underscored the importance of Public Relations Officers within these agencies being registered with the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), pledging support in this endeavor.

* Comrade Ini Ememobong

Comrade Ini Ememobong expressed gratitude for the support and partnership extended during his previous tenure as Commissioner of Information and requested continued cooperation now that he has returned to the role.

In his remarks, SP Odiko Macdon, the team lead and Police Public Relations Officer, commended Comrade Ini Ememobong for his past contributions and thanked the Governor for his reappointment as Commissioner. Macdon highlighted the potential benefits of broader coverage and public enlightenment in enhancing the public’s awareness of their duties and fostering cooperation with Security Agencies.

He also congratulated the Honourable Commissioner on his recent victory as a Council member in the NIPR, seeing it as a collective achievement for the Public Relations community, the Information Ministry, and Akwa Ibom State.

SRC Paul James, the Public Relations Officer of the FRSC in the State, extended thanks to the Honourable Commissioner, the Ministry of Information’s Management, and Staff for their warm reception. He conveyed felicitations from their respective Agency leaders and expressed his happiness at the Commissioner’s return.

Mrs. Grace Akpan, the Director of Public Relations in the Ministry, added her gratitude, emphasizing the significance of divine grace in making the event possible. She also thanked the guests for celebrating the Honourable Commissioner’s return, wishing them a safe journey home.

The event concluded with group photographs and friendly interactions, attended by representatives from various Security Agencies and the Ministry of Information, fostering a spirit of collaboration for the greater good of Akwa Ibom State.
