It is a dramatic turn of events in Kano State, as Barrister Muhuyi Magaji Rimin Gado, who was Chairman of the Kano anti-graft agency, the Kano Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission (PCACC), but sacked by former Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje while he was in office, has been called back to the agency, by the incumbent Governor of Kano State, Abba Yusuf.
Muhuyi Magaji Rimin Gado who resumed after the call on June 21, has been up and doing. Latest in his card is the arrest of Idris Saleh, former commissioner for works and infrastructure, in the administration of Abdullahi Ganduje, the immediate past governor of the state.
The former commissioner, in a report by DailyTrust, was arrested on Monday alongside 5 others alleged to be involved in N1 billion fraud. Money meant for the rehabilitation of 30 roads and drainages within the Kano metropolis and not executed! But reportedly withdrawn in 3 portions and paid into 3 companies’ accounts on April 23.
And that is not all, the agency has decided to open Ganduje’s case, where he was seen a viral video online, stuffing dollars in his pocket in October 2018.
“We have decided to reopen the case against former governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje. Our agency will conduct a comprehensive investigation into the allegations and ensure that due process is followed,” Barrister Muhuyi Magaji Rikin Gado said.
