Last December’s Christmas Unplugged excellent performance, is making Akwa Ibom, the Tourism destination and most sought after State in Nigeria, by the entire Tourism community.
The Honourable Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Sir Charles Udoh, made this known earlier today, while appearing as a Radio Guest on Comfort 95.1fm.
Counting the gains of Tourism within one year of the Governor Umo Eno-led ARISE administration, the Tourism Commissioner said, not only has our Leader, Pastor Umo Eno been awarded *’The Tourism Governor of the Year 2023’* in Nigeria, but Akwa Ibom has been opened-up as the most sought after State by Stakeholders of the industry and the entire Tourism community.
“The entire Tourism community of Nigeria ,from the Honourable Minister of Tourism, Lola Ade-John to all other stakeholders are eager to come to Akwa Ibom to savour the Tourism flavour of the State”, Sir Udoh emphasized.
He said, the reason for the commendable fillers from the prism of Tourism community is not far fetched, but based on the excellent performance of the Christmas Unplugged which shook the Nigerian nation and indeed the globe, last December.
Sir Udoh averred that, exciting innovations should be expected in the Christmas Unplugged season 2.0 especially as Pastor Umo Eno the flag-bearer of Tourism in Nigeria is himself very innovative with high premium on Tourism as a high investment and income-earner for the state
On the development of the Ibeno Beach by Landmark Africa, the Commissioner said, this will impact greatly on the lives of the people as there will be increase in Entrepreneurship with direct and indirect job creation for skilled and unskilled labour and vendors as well as numerous value chain opportunities.
Speaking on Tourism sites in the State, Sir Charles Udoh stated that, Akwa Ibom has a lot of historical relics and cultural artefacts to showcase which ranks the State as a tourist haven adding that plans are underway towards developing a Tourism calendar for the State.
