Former Minister of Education, Obiageli Ezekwesili, has expressed sadness over the troubling allegation made by Air Peace boss that dominant players on the Lagos-London route, are planning to crash price to likely push Air Peace out of the route!
Ezekwesili said if that is true, then the purpose of healthy competition is defeated. She then called on airline regulatory body to intervene to stop such an action.
Air Peace boss, Allen Onyema had cried out that there is an “unspoken alliance” among foreign airlines to use lower pricing, to eject his carrier from the Nigeria-London route.
“If they take out Air Peace prematurely, this country will pay dearly for it, 10 times over, billions will be lost, there will be another heavy strain on the naira,” he said.
Ezekwesili said, “The moves of those dominant airlines on that route appear predatory and need to be nipped in the bud immediately, once the regulator gets all the facts.
