Finally, The Atlantic Ocean Kisses The Lagoon After A Warm Embrace

This early morning view at La Campagne Tropicana Beach Resort at Ibeju-lekki, Lagos, Nigeria, is so special and magical.

Nature has visited the entire water landscape, giving the environment a total, new natural look! Just like the regular colour change of the sky, the regular colour change of the Atlantic ocean water, this morning, nature has changed the entire shape and construction of the entire beach horizon. And that has also blessed the breakfast setting and location this particular morning, with an enchanting, romantic look. Never seen a beach wear this unique look.

The two giant waters, the Atlantic ocean and the Lagoon have met and it is sensationally fascinating in the sight of everyone here present. And the whole surgical operation enabling the crossing of one water into the other, took place overnight.

Guests woke up to see this magical meeting of both large waters already embracing and kissing almost every five seconds, as the Atlantic ocean water flows into the lagoon water.

The tourists are overwhelmed at the sight. So are the locals because, this only happens once in a year, like a festival. So the locals come out to see the trend, even as the tourists, capture moment by moment details.

The white, blue waters of the Atlantic ocean rushes to the shores in waves that shines and glitters like diamonds, then flows into the dark waters of the Lagoon, obviously in an emotional, romantic embrace, only understood by nature!

It is at this spot that lovers sit this morning, cuddling, taking selfies and watching the beautiful nature’s marvel, while other guests join, to capture endearing photographs of their holiday moments.

No scissors, no needles used, no caterpillar or bulldozers to shizel through the sands, no shovels or other building tools or implements used to create passageway for the two large waters to meet. Yet, the huge sand dunes, that usually separated the two waters by about 2 miles, caved in and made way, on both sides and enabled the flow of one water into the other.

But wait for this second miraculous revelation! Though the two waters have met, embraced and probably kissed repeatedly, neither integrates into the other! Yes, they flow into one another, yet maintain their singular originality.

The Atlantic Ocean salty water remains and retains it’s salty taste and the Lagoon fresh water retains it’s uniqueness. So it’s just a matter of embrace, kiss and tell, but no gender transformation (laugh). Both parties remain distinct in the romantic relationship!

And how long does this romance take place?

* Akinboboye

According to the owner and Founder of La Campagne Tropicana Beach Resort, Tourism Icon, Otunba Olawanle Akinboboye, who has witnessed this annual nature water romance for about 40 years, the meeting of these two large waters lasts for two days and then nature reconstructs the spot again, by arranging the area, setting back the huge wall that demarcates the two waters with huge sand dunes, that keeps them apart till another year, about the same time!

For guests and tourists, this special view remains historically picturesque, with colourful designs of the light blue sky, changing into light creamy color and then to yet another color, and then another, as the sun rose from the other end of the Atlantic ocean, shinning brilliantly unto the entire resort like a halo!

Breakfast couldn’t have been better, anywhere else, than this natural photo-speak environment. Sitting on the edge of the lagoon and having the Atlantic ocean water sweep over your feet was certainly intriguing this morning. And adjacent to the guests, are the eti-oso holiday homes which usually are not accessible through the lagoon water, but today, guests are free to touch the walls of the homes, since the lagoon water, has slightly moved away, in its hurried race upwards, to hug the Atlantic ocean.

However, the romantic relationship of the waters did not stop the usual morning breakfast show. Guests had their holiday moments on the lagoon water, kayaking, boat cruising, horse riding on the shores of the ocean, dancing to gyration from Atunda Entertainment, even as the Founder of the beach resort also joined the teeming tourists, to witness the sight of the meeting of the waters, and had fun playing beach soccer after breakfast.

Yes, many of the tourists have decided that they will wait today and all night tomorrow, to see, if they will be opportuned to see or witness that moment when nature will once again demarcate the two large waters in the next 36 hours or so.

Definitely, we will join the tourists too, to watch and wait to capture that very historic moment. And ofcourse, we will also let you know the outcome, after this time out!
