In Akwa Ibom State, new good things are happening as happy-hour Governor Umo Eno puts smiles on the faces of retired primary school teachers in the state.
The governor yesterday “ordered immediate release of One Billion Naira for settlement of gratuities for Retired Primary School Teachers in the State. The Governor also aapproved the release of Eight Hundred Million Naira to clear the backlog of Leave Grants for Workers while subsequent Leave Grants shall be incorporated into Monthly salaries for prompt payment thereby giving the retired Primary School Teachers and other Workers a new lease of hope.”

We understand that the gesture is actually a promise the governor made during his election campaign and a part of his Arise Agenda Series.
In addition, the able governor, “has set up a committee for disbursement of Federal and State Government Palliatives in ten days to cushion the effects of the fuel subsidy removal.
“And other measures put in place to further reduce the sufferings of the masses particularly in Akwa Ibom State shall be unveiled by the Governor in the coming days,” said a source.
