Governor Umo Eno Approves N80,000 Minimum Wage, Sets Up Implementation Committee

Governor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom State has announced a new minimum wage of N80,000 for all state government employees, demonstrating his commitment to enhancing the welfare of civil servants.

To ensure a seamless implementation process, Governor Eno has constituted a 17-member implementation committee, headed by Elder Effiong Essien, the Head of the Civil Service.

The committee has been tasked with delivering its report on the wage increase within one month.

The implementation committee members include:

1. Elder Effiong Essien – Head of the Civil Service (Chairman)

2. Chairman, State Civil Service Commission

3. Chairman, Local Government Service Commission

4. Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Finance

5. Permanent Secretary, Department of Establishments

6. Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Labour and Manpower Planning

7. Permanent Secretary/Solicitor General, Ministry of Justice

8. Permanent Secretary/Accountant General

9. Permanent Secretary, Local Government Service Commission

10. Permanent Secretary, Office of the Head of Civil Service

11. Director of Budget

12. State Chairman, Joint Public Service Negotiating Council

13. Secretary, Joint Public Sector Negotiating Council

14. State Chairperson, Nigeria Labour Congress, Akwa Ibom State

15. State Chairman, Trade Union Congress, Akwa Ibom State

16. State President, Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE)

17. Representative from the Office of the Governor

This gesture demonstrates Governor Eno’s commitment to improving the living standards of Akwa Ibom State workers.
