NAPTIP Receives Rescued 51 human trafficked victims

The National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) Zonal Commander Abdullahi Babale, has disclosed that, the agency has arrested two suspects in connection with the trafficking of 51 rescued victims by Kano State Hisbah Board.

“The victims were rescued on April 21, at Hotoro motor park in Kano metropolis by the State Hisbah Board on their way to Cote d’Ivoire, to secure a visa to travel to Saudi Arabia for labour exploitation”

“Out of the 51 victims, two are from Niger Republic, while others were from Kano, Katsina, Yobe and Jigawa states,”

Babale, commended the Director-General of Kano State Hisbah Board, noting that the suspects would be charged in court after investigation.

Babale added that, “The rescued victims would be counselled and rehabilitated before reuniting them with their families.”
