PS CULTURE RECIEVES AMBASSADOR OF TOURISM AWARD

The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Mrs.Grace Akpan has been honoured with  the Ambassador of Culture and Tourism Award.

The Award was presented to her by the Association of Beauty Queens and Kings during the 2024 Queens Summit held recently at the Council of Arts and Culture, OBJ Way, Uyo with the theme – ‘The Productive Queen’.

Presenting the Award recently to the Permanent Secretary at the  occasion, the National President of the Association, Ambassador Ukeme Michael said, the Award is in recognition of the contributions of Mrs. Grace Akpan towards the development of Tourism in the State since her assumption of duties in the Ministry.

Ambassador Ukeme Michael extolled the sterling qualities of Mrs. Akpan, who he said is an inspiration to many particularly the Queens who see her as a productive Girl-child who has grown in her career-line to the peak by dint of hardwork, dedication and commitment to duties.

He congratulated her on the Award disclosing that, the honour goes with the title of ‘Queen’ as it comes from the stable of Queens Association and urged her to remain a model and mentor to aspiring Queens among the enclave of the Girl-child.

In her response, the Permanent Secretary, Mrs. Grace Akpan expressed deep appreciation to the Association for finding her worthy as a role model and mentor to the Queens and of -course the Girl-child and pledged her readiness to gear her efforts and energy in the expected direction.

Represented by the Director of Tourism, Mrs. Christy Enoch at the occasion, the Permanent Secretary commended the Association for the well thought out theme of the Summit and implored all the Queens to occcupy themselves in gainful entrepreneurial skills in keeping with the entrepreneurial development plank of the ARISE Agenda of the Governor Umo Eno-led administration.

The event was attended by Directors of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism as well as Queens across the nine states of the Association and Abuja, the Federal capital territory.
