The State of the African Diaspora (SOAD) and Motherland Beckons have signed a Memorandum of Understanding(MOU) pursuant to which they have agreed to co-operate on several programs including:

●The New Black Star Line
●The Ipada Carnival
●Tourism
● Culture

and any other programs conducive to the MOU.

Motherland Beckons is part of a group of companies which like SOAD, is passionate about creating connections and reconnections between Africa and the Diaspora.

Motherland Beckons offers tailor -made and exciting tours to Africa. Its aim is to ensure that people of the diaspora and beyond can become familiar with the Cultural Festivals and the social , natural and historical phenomena associated with the African continent. It also seeks to expose Africans in the diaspora to the business opportunities available in Africa.

Mr Hugh Johnson, Second Vice Prime Minister of SOAD , who established the connection between the parties, explained that the co -operation captured by the MOU was crucial. In his words :

” This is a match made by our ancestors to complete the work they have began many years ago to see the reunification of our people”

Upon signing the MOU, Otunba Wanle Akinboboye, the founder of Motherland Beckons said he was excited by the synergy that will be created by this partnership. He emphasized that the MOU is a handshake between Africans in the diaspora and Africans on the continent. He noted that when all people of African descent, whether on the continent or in the diaspora, make a concerted effort to join together, the concerted effort that led to their separation will be put to an end. They will also be able to unite and create an Africa that benefits its people no matter where they are located.
