The Yoruba Study Group which promotes and projects Yoruba traditional values and her cultural heritage, has honoured Tourism Icon, Otunba Olawanle Akinboboye with the historic Icon of Excellence and Distinguished Enterprenure Award.
The Group which also encourages the speaking of Yoruba language in schools, churches and at home as well as encouraging Omoluabi ethos that has once distinguished and dignified the Yoruba race, said the choice of Akinboboye as a recipient of the award is borne out of “our appreciation of you, for your ingenuity and sense of creativity in projecting African cultural values and her heritage.”
“We appreciate you for setting an acceptable standard in showcasing African intrinsic values through tourism, entertainment and culture.”
The ceremony which took place at the La Campagne Tropicana Beach Resort, gave the visitors, an opportunity to taste the hospitality of the nature endowed beach and forest resort.
And they duly gave their comment about the resort afterwards:
“Your staff are well structured, the troupe are excellent, the meals are sumptuous and the accommodation are luxurious: everything packed in a well managed naturally serene environment.”
Members of the Yoruba Study Group, cut across all the six states of South Western Nigeria and the Yoruba speaking areas of Kogi and Kwara, with Chief Dr. Peter Fatomilola as the Board of Trustee Chairman. While, Adeosun Olabanji Williams, is the current President of the Group.
The Tourism Icon, Otunba Olawanle Akinboboye in his response, thanked the Yoruba Study Group, for their effort in locating him with such a prestigious award. He urged them, not to relent in their good effort to revive and bring back the good old values of our cultural heritage.

Thank you for your kind donation to the Group sir. We appreciate you greatly,” said Adeosun Olabanji Williams, in his closing remarks.
