A’IBOM: GOVERNOR ENO REWARDS EXCELLENCE, OFFERS AUTOMATIC EMPLOYMENT

… TO FIRST CLASS NAUTICAL SCIENCE GRADUATE

In a move that underscores the Akwa Ibom State Government’s commitment to rewarding excellence and empowering youths, Governor Umo Eno has offered automatic employment to Mr. Mkpouto-Abasi Ime Umossoh, a First Class graduate in Nautical Science from the prestigious Academy of Maritime Education and Training (AMET), Kanathur, Chennai, India.

During an inspection visit to the ARISE Park project site along Dominic Utuk Avenue, Uyo, Umossoh, a native of Essien Udim Local Government Area, appealed for support, sharing his desire for a sustainable means of livelihood to support his aged parents.

With a National Diploma from the Maritime Academy of Nigeria (MAN), Oron, and a willingness to work as a 3rd officer onboard a ship, Umossoh’s academic achievements and professional certifications impressed Governor Eno.

Moved by compassion and impressed by Umossoh’s excellence, Governor Eno directed the Secretary to the State Government, Prince Enobong Uwah, to collaborate with the Commissioner for Transport, Hon. Orman Esin, to engage Umossoh in the state’s passenger cruise ship project. The Commissioner for Internal Security, General Koko Essien, will conduct due diligence before the final engagement.

Governor Eno was delighted with the progress of the ARISE Park project, transformed from a life-threatening gully erosion site to a soon-to-be-completed wealth-generating tourism site.

He praised the contractors for their ingenuity and commitment to delivering a world-class project, demonstrating his administration’s dedication to excellence and youth empowerment.
