Nigerian Student Dies In UK

Story by King Solomon Ekhaiyeme

Chinonso Ezeonwumere is no more! He was a student pursuing an MSc in Management at the University of Hertfordshire in Hatfield, England. He passed away on 7th October 2024.

Chinonso was reported to have collapsed and died at his workplace, a warehouse company, while waiting to start his shift. Despite efforts made by medical practitioners, Hatfield Police Station officers, and on-site security officers to resuscitate him, all attempts were unsuccessful.

Chinonso’s aspirations for a brighter future in the UK were tragically cut short by his sudden demise. Known as a cheerful and well-liked individual, Chinonso was the youngest child of his mother and is survived by seven older siblings residing in Nigeria.

The family has requested that Chinonso’s body be repatriated to Nigeria immediately for burial once all necessary investigations have been completed, possibly by next week. A GoFundMe account has been set up to raise funds for flying his body back to Nigeria as per the family’s request, with any remaining funds being provided to the grieving family as compensation for their loss.
