ADEFUYE CHARGES MEN OF GOD IN NIGERIA

The Chairman of the Governing Council of Divine Favour Theological and Specialised Seminary, Mowe, Ogun State, Sen Anthony Adefuye, has charged ministers of God in Nigeria not to use their pulpits to deceive people but should rather restrict their utterances on the pulpit to preaching peace, love, healing, salvation as well as the divine purposes of the pulpit.

Speaking at the weekend during the 16th Convention/ Anniversary thanksgiving service of Divine Favour Prayer Assembly Ministries in Mowe, Ogun State, Sen Adefuye who is the Olugbon of Lagos and Sobaloju of the Source stated that the it should not be seen or heard that men of God are involved in various deceptions in a bid to extract money from the congregation.

The Octogenarian politician further stated that rather than men of God using the pulpit to acquire wealth, they should think about how the poor and the needy amongst their congregation could be assisted and empowered.

He lauded the commendable achievements of the ministry in the last 16 years adding that ” it is praiseworthy that the church which we set up sixteen years ago is today having three branches, a school of ministry as well as a mountain in Ekiti State”.

Adefuye prayed and asked God to bless all the people that came for the thanksgiving service and grant their heart desires.

On behalf of the church, Sen Adefuye inducted a renowned Public Relations practitioner in Nigeria, Mrs Nkechi Alli – Balogun a Grand Patron of the church.

Addressing news men after the induction, the Head Pastor of the church, A/ Professor Tayo Popoola described the honour as the highest in the ministry that is purely reserved for outstanding Nigerians in the society, to encourage them to do more for a better Nigerian society.

He stated that Mrs Alli – Balogun is an outstanding PR practitioner in Nigeria whose wealth of experience would assist the church of God.

Ministering on the theme of the convention, “Manifestation of God’s Glory”- 2 Kgs 15:2, the General Overseer of Anointed Gospel Church, Lagos, Rev Dr. Friday O.Ordia described God’s glory as evidence or proof of transformation of God or the perfection of His works for mankind.

Rev Ordia further described God’s glory as the first blessing of God on earth as contained in the book of Gen 1:1-3 during which God decreed light in a bid to tackle the problem of the earth “that was without form and void”.

For mankind to manifest God’s glory, Rev Ordia urged people to keep themselves pure by embracing righteous living.

In his goodwill message to the church, the BOT Chairman of the church, Chief (Dr.) Kenny Martins congratulated the ministers and the entire members of the church for spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ.

He urged the church of God in Nigeria not to relent in their prayers but should step up efforts and prayers for national peace and security.

Chief Kenny Martins who was represented by Chief Jonny Ucheaga further stated that prayer for national peace and security would enable Government to concentrate on the task of revamping the ailing national economy.

Dignitaries from all walks of life attended the thanksgiving service which ended the week – long convention that started on Monday, 7th October.
