In a military operation that took place yesterday, the erstwhile President Bazoum became a captive in the Palace.

Colonel Major Amadou Abdramane who seems to be the leader of the coup, made a televised broadcast this morning, stating the cause of the coup being, deteriorating security situation and poor social and economic management by the government.
