A Tour Of The Lagoon In A Luxury Boat

By Paul Ukpabio

The beauty of a holiday at La Campagne Tropicana Beach Resort, located at Ibeju-lekki, Lagos, is the creativity that abounds in this nature’s paradise.

If you can creatively conceive it, then it is do-able.

For instance, guests at this resort can choose to have their meal while floating on the lagoon.

That sounded impossible to me, until I actually witnessed it!

You can choose from over 25 water sports to keep you active the whole day. You can nature-watch, or even sketch your environment on canvass or whatever you prefer to work with.

Couples can go horse-riding by the beach as usually seen in movies.

And the environment presents an educational opportunity. You can learn cultural activities like African dance steps, learn African songs, hair plaiting and so on, while on your holiday.

Today, I went on a tour of the lagoon, in a luxury boat.

No boring moment at La Campagne Tropicana Beach Resort.

Right on the dark waters of the lagoon, I could see another perspective of the resort, the side and view you can only get and appreciate when you are on the waters of the lagoon itself.

The holiday homes that are built on the lagoon come clearly into view at this time. I could appreciate their beauty better, as I brought out my camera, to archive my memories.

It turns out that the boat and I, was also a possible memory to keep, as the lodgers at the balcony of the luxury homes on the lagoon, brought out their cell phones to snap away, at the luxury boat, and occupants, cruising peacefully on the Lagoon. I couldn’t blame them, because the boat on the lagoon with the background of its rich, lush, surrounding greenery, must be irresistible to a tourist guest at the resort.

So calming was the tour of the lagoon, so soothing to my nerves. The silent, cool breeze blowing across the water, from the opposite direction, where the Atlantic ocean roars it’s waves to the shore. The greenery of the flora. The changing colour of the vegetation on the edges of the lagoon, as the boat moves slowly from one part to another. The mangroves that reminds one of the creeks of the Niger Delta. I could float, sleeping on the water all day!

But yes, some guests choose such privacy. Using the calm and peace to work or just laze in a boat, as demanded by their holiday mood.

After exploring the nooks and cranies of the lagoon, I still enjoyed a 360 degree view of the lagoon, courtesy of the owner and founder of La Campagne Tropicana Beach Resort, Otunba Wanle Akinboboye.

I felt so, so fulfilled.

Such memory, such feat, such fulfilment can’t be hidden by me. I just have to share this nature’s delight and encourage tourism enthusiasts like you and all lovers of nature, all round the world, to try and come over to La Campagne Tropicana Beach Resort, Lagos, for this feeling, this experience of fulfillment.
