Little Girl Who Missed Performing For Gov Sanwo-Olu Laments

Four years old Eriifeoluwa Pearl Adebayo oozes childlike innocence all over her, yet she walks and works in the company of heavy weight artistes who have made their mark in various aspects of arts such as dance, drumming and even open theatre performances.

It is said that every time Eriifeoluwa is on stage or set, she creates the magnetism that makes such production a success.

Eriifeoluwa Pearl Adebayo came to limelight last week when she performed at a set rehearsal and spontaneously did a praise chanting song for the birthday celebration of Lagos State Governor, His Excellency, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu.

According to those who were on the set that day, the performance was so real and enchantingly creative that people cheered her and encouraged the art group to put the performance up for a public showcase. And that was how little Eriifeoluwa hit the limelight.

This reporter went to look for this little marvel of a performer and found her at Abule Egba area of Lagos. A not so flamboyant choice of residence, but gold also springs out of mud into glitters!

Playful with the innocence of a child her age, we asked Eriifeoluwa if he knows Mr Sanwo-Olu the Lagos State Governor, she replied:
“No.”
“So why did you perform for him?” This reporter persisted.
“Its because i see him on TV and he is always working and busy. I wanted to perform at his birthday but my daddy said we cannot reach where he is.”
Suddenly her countenance changed and the earlier bubbling happiness disappeared.

“So what’s your wish Eriifeoluwa?”
“As if waiting for the question, she replied with a little scream, “I want to meet Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.”
Afterwards she started moving away.
As far as she was concerned, she was done with the little interview, she moved away slowly and then ran towards her father, before joining her friends outside to resume her earlier abandoned play.
Such innocence in the body of a great performer.

The Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, celebrated his 59th birthday early this week Tuesday with children living with disabilities at Lagos House, Ikeja.

The birthday event is said to have been attended by about 250 special needs students and their teachers. This was the particular event that Eriifeoluwa had hoped to perform at.

Coincidentally, the great little performer will be celebrating her own birthday next week Thursday! Ofcourse this reporter asked her what performance she will be putting up for her birthday, she simply laughed shyly and resumed play with her friends.
