The Director General of Ekiti State Bureau of Tourism Development, Barrister Wale Ojo-Lanre, has said that, the tourism and economic impact of Asun Carnival in Ondo state will be enormous in the years to come.

Ojo-Lanre who was at the last Saturday Asun Carnival event celebration in Ondo state, hosted by Motherland Beckons and Destination Ondo, said that he was not surprised at the monumental success of the Asun carnival.

“The Asun Carnival is indigenous. Ondo people have always been known for this special goat meat delicacy and Asun Carnival will furthermore bring about the globalisation of this delicacy. The world is set to receive this delicacy and I see this going into many menu of the hospitality and tourism concerns all over the world. I commend the Founder of Asun Carnival, Otunba Wanle Akinboboye, owner of La Campagne Tropicana Beach Resort for his vision to package the Asun carnival.

“I also commend him for his economic strategy for Asun Carnival because apart from this delicacy being exported to the world, the annual celebration will empower, goat sellers, those sewing the carnival costumes, empower the musicians and drummers and giving maximum exposure to the youths, the students and even the people in the town who provide transportation, to tourists that come from other states in Nigeria and abroad for this event.
