I MUST JUSTIFY GOV UMO ENO’S CONFIDENCE IN ME

The Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Sir Charles Udoh has said the reason in celebrating his 2023 birthday at the Unity Park is to ensure that the ongoing work at the Christmas Village continues under his close supervision to enable him justify the confidence reposed on him by His Excellency Governor Umo Eno.

Sir Charles Udoh said with the multitude of people looking forward to the 2023 Christmas Festival experience, including: 15 indigenous singers and 17 choir groups and choral as well as the 200 vendors registered for the kiosks, he had no other option than to put himself at the background even on his birthday to project the ongoing work at the Christmas village which is a priority to both the government and people of the State at the moment.

The Commissioner made this known, Tuesday at the Unity Park when the management staff of the Ministry of Information led by the Permanent Secretary, Akparawa James Edet, paid him a visit to commemorate his 2023 birthday anniversary.

Sir Udoh expressed appreciation to the Commissioner for Information, Comrade Ini Ememobong, who he described as his younger brother for always celebrating him on his birthdays since he took over as the Commissioner for Information, noting that, the entire Ministry of Information is dear to him and his love for staff of the Ministry remains undiluted.

In his remarks, the leader of the team and Permanent Secretary, Akparawa James Edet, acknowledged the enormous responsibility involved in the construction of the Christmas village and expressed with optimism that, with the capacity of Sir Charles Udoh as a silent achiever, he will deliver as expected by His Excellency the Governor.

Akparawa James Edet extended the good wishes of the Commissioner for Information, Comrade Ini Ememobong, the management and entire staff of the Minsitry to Sir Charles Udoh on his birthday and prayed that he attend higher heights in the years ahead in good health and prosperity.

In a vote of thanks, the Director of Public Relations, Mrs Grace Akpan, expressed appreciation to the Commissioner for Information, Comrade Ini Ememobong for sustaining the birthday visits to his predecessors, which she acknowledged has rejuvenated goodwill for government.

Mrs. Grace Akpan, appreciated the Commissioner for Tourism for receiving the staff of the Ministry on birthday as well as the management staff, for accompanying the Permanent Secretary on the visit.

The visit which featured the presentation of birthday card and gifts to the celebrator, Sir Charles Udoh amidst birthday chants was witnessed by Directors of the Ministry of Information including: Director, Strategy, Mr Aniekan Ukpong, Director, Archives, Dr. Eunice Egharevba, Director and Administration, Mrs Ntimkpo Udoka.

Others included:Head of PRS, Mr. Peter Antai, Head, Legal Unit, Barr (Mrs) Edo Koko and Head, Finance and Accounts, Mrs. Inyang Mfon.
