… Unleash machete cuts on wife
A pastor, Dada Itopa, made an unfortunate decision, when he hired labourers to help him weed his farmland in Ondo State.
Itope who is said to have been 45 years of age, was reportedly killed on his farmland at Ebira camp in Ipele community of Owo Local Government Area.
According to a statement by Funmilayo Odunlami-Omisanya, the Ondo Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), yesterday, the pastor offered two labourers N11,000 to weed his farmland.
At the farm, one of them identified as Omatai requested a cutlass from the pastor to use for the work on the farm, but used it to kill him. The pastor’s wife who shouted for help was inflicted with machete cuts and presently under care in hospital.
The PPRO noted that one of the labourer-ritualists, Mohammed Musa has been arrested, while his co-suspect, Omatai is on the run. Meanwhile, Mohammed, she said, has confessed that, “they carried out the attack because they needed to deliver a human head to a herbalist who requested it in Ipele.”
“Effort to arrest the second suspect and the herbalist, is now under way,” said the PPRO.
